As we know that 2012 season has been a good one for Ian Poulter, but he hopes there is more to come at this weekend's DP World Tour Championship.
After helping Europe to an extraordinary Ryder Cup comeback win over the Americans, the Englishmen followed it up with victory at the WGC-HSBC Champions event in China while he also finished runner-up to Adam Scott at the Australian Masters last week.
His excellent form in recent months means he can return to the world's top 10 for the first time in almost two years if he is victorious in Dubai come Sunday. "I feel I can end the year on a pretty high note," he said. "It's been great since September - my golf has been an extension of the Ryder Cup.
"It's the kind of golf I would have expected to play - it was a week I will keep with me for a long time and shows what golf I can play when I'm in that frame of mind." The 36-year-old, though, knows all too well that a lot of players are judged on the number of majors they have won.
Having finished seventh in the US Masters, ninth at The Open and then third at the USPGA Championship, he feels he is edging closer to that elusive win in one of the big four.
"It's in me. It comes out in the Ryder Cup, so why can't I produce week-in and week-out. When you look at the best players they do," he said. "Majors are hard to win, but I played well in three of them this year and would like to get closer" source: golf online
